These analog collages are at the very center of the artistic work of Bep Broos.
Compare this with her ceramic art - another major field of her many interests - where you can find yourself in a vast universe of related shapes; see the 'urns' collection.
The collages here take a liberate and more diverse approach to the language of visual expression, as imaging ranges from pure basics to florid scenes and involved layers of position and meaning. All these works are in paper. Subtle, maybe, rather than in solid, baked texture, but again always containing an element of surprise, of concise but puzzling though candid stories that pervade atmosphere, context, wit, warmth and good humor.
The quality of the analog collages is all apparent: they are actually cut & paste, showing patience and precision, as well as thoughtful composition, minding detail and lots of intuition.
The artist has a gut understanding of our world. Take care, and be amused!
The format of most of the collages is 420x297mm (A3), 400x300mm, 297x210mm (A4) or 270x350mm using 220..360gr/m³ back paper. They are normally on display with a basic black frame and clear float glass.
Collages can be purchased as original or as Giclée print from a small and limited reproduction series. Please inquire for pricing by email to bep@bepbroos.nl. Thank you!
